New Lettings Department Up and Running!
With much speculation on where the property market is heading, one thing is for certain, people will always need a place to live, be it buying or renting. Last year saw sales and subsequent turnover increase on the previous year and with our standing in the town, all the signs tell that 2008 will be no exception.
Having launched our new lettings department at the start of January we have been very encouraged with our first few months trading. As expected, demand has been exceptionally high with many potential tenants keen to find a suitable property in and around the county town. Landlords have taken full advantage of our exclusive fee of 8% (Minimum £500) for tenant find, seeing the great advantage of being able to manage their property to suit their requirements.

Great start to 2008!! In a period of economic uncertainty I am pleased to be able to report a superb sales quarter from the Weymouth office. Fleixibility continues to be key for vendors due to the high number of properties on the market at present, but for those motivated to sell, there are still good quality buyers on our books looking from one bedroom flats right through the spectrum to £1,500,000 million homes. The Weymouth team continue to maximise all available forms of media, with the Internet, as always, at the forefront and our 'glossy' magazine and new look Dorset Echo advert catching the eye of those valuable potential buyers. Looking ahead We are confident our dynamic approach, extensive advertising and essentially regular communication with vendor and buyers alike will continue to generate great results for the next quarter. There is no question that the property market is at its toughest in a decade. It has meant that staff have had to raise their game to achieve the same results as before but also a complete change in mindset and the advice we offer our vendors. However, Dorchester remains a popular choice among buyers and property is still selling. There are copious potential purchasers keen and motivated to buy, but pricing is a major consideration, more than ever before. We would recommend that any vendor truly motivated to sell must ensure that their home is realistically priced, and should they be presented with an offer lower than they would like, they should still consider it. Looking ahead As a branch we continue to be a leading light in the Dorchester housing market. Where others are struggling, we continue to sell strongly and offer our buyers ever-fresh properties at realistic prices. We also continue to offer a fantastic sales progressing service and our new look property details, plasma screen and company brochure are proving to be a big hit! Sales Vs Lettings! Where the sales market is suffering, we have capitalised on the lettings market since the beginning of 2008, letting almost all of the properties on our books. Demand seems to far outweigh supply here and with a top tenant finding service on offer with extremely competitive prices for landlords and tenants alike we would encourage anyone considering letting a property to contact us and discuss what we have to offer.
